How to run live voting at your event
From the first question to the announcement on stage, Zapop puts you in charge of the audience vote. People participate on their phones while you decide when to open, close and reveal the results.
Create a free pollBefore the doors open
Create your event and choose a format: a single vote, multiple rounds, categories or head-to-head matches. Add the options or contestants and check the names before sharing access. Set up a computer to manage the event and a projector or screen for the presentation. Test the venue’s internet connection, including the network your audience will use.
While the audience votes
Share the link or display the event’s QR code. People open the ballot in their phone browser and vote on the current round. Follow the count in your dashboard and close voting when the time comes. Tell the audience what they are deciding and how long they have to participate; access to the ballot alone does not replace clear instructions.
Keep control of the announcement
Closing voting and revealing results are separate actions. You can stop collecting votes, give the host time to speak and then start the reveal on screen. After the event, view the report and export results as CSV to work with them in Excel or Numbers.
Frequently asked questions
Do results appear automatically when voting closes?
No. The organizer controls the reveal even after voting has closed, so the announcement can follow the pace of the show.
Does voting require an internet connection?
Yes. Participants need Wi-Fi or mobile data. Test the venue’s network before the event and check your plan’s vote limits.
